Saplings: 2-3 Years

The Saplings department benefits from three different areas, which includes a messy space! We are a very ‘messy’ nursery and the children will certainly have fun exploring in sand, water and gloop play!

The large secure garden which is just for our under 3’s gives many challenging but achievable experiences for your children. From ride on toys and slides to the Playhouse and a pirate boat, we aim to support those little imaginations through active role play. We explore the surrounding areas which include running around the orchards, fruit picking and visiting the farm.

At Little Blossoms, we ensure your child’s transition into Saplings runs as smoothly as possible with a number of settling sessions, and a supportive key person giving your child the reassurance to feel safe and cared for. The children only move up into the next department when they are developmentally ready along with the keyperson discussing the transition with the parents.

Our staff  support your children so that they are able to enjoy and achieve, with planned experiences that follow your child’s interests. This is an environment in which children will flourish and become more confident and independent with each day.

Around the age of 2 1/2 your child is due a ‘development check’ from both the nursery setting and your health visitor. Please let your key person know if you get a date through from your health visitor so we co-ordinate these checks.
