The Pippins: 3–5 Years

The Pippins departments are our pre-school rooms, offering  stimulating, exciting activities to stretch skills and imagination and will give your child a head start for when they begin school.

Whether in the busy ‘small world area’ or the relaxing ‘cosy corner’, your children can build up those all- important secure relationships by sharing a story with their key person or a game with their peers.

Your little ones will have fun getting messy in the creative area with weekly cooking sessions and daily art experiences. We aim to support all children to be self-assured, and with their imaginations running wild in the role play corner their confidence will grow .

The Children get to self serve their meals at lunchtimes, to encourage their independence and serving skills.

The ‘Write dance’ music and movement session will  keep  your children active, as well as weekly sessions at ‘Forest School’ where you will find the children sliding down the mudslides and searching for bugs – all parents welcome!

We have 2 pre-school rooms to ensure group sizes are smaller. Pippins Pears and Pippins Apples have 2 different staff teams but the expereinces are very similar with the same play areas within the two rooms.

In addition to the indoor facilities, our separate garden areas provide endless opportunities for fun. They can role play in the Wendy House, make pies in the mud kitchen or ride up and down on the pedal bikes. A wide open space in the Orchard allows the children the freedom to explore and express themselves.

Nursery Education Funding

Every child is eligible to claim Nursery Education Funding from the term immediately after their 3rd birthday, and we will register your child when the time comes. The grant provides a maximum of 30 hours, which can be offered in different ways.  More details of this can be found on a separate letter which you will be able to request on entry to the pre-school department.
